Program Plan

A phased roll-out of the program

The phased rollout of the centre is enabling us to bridge the digital divide in Uganda by providing access to technology, training, and resources, transforming residents' lives through the digital economy. Our goal is to mobilize human and financial resources to make this project a beacon of change in the community.

Phase 1: Soft Launch and Training

Phase One of the Community Digital Centre started with a soft launch focused on identifying the digital needs of women in the community. We set up the facility, acquired initial equipment, and began digital literacy training. A comprehensive plan was developed, and partnerships were formed with local organizations and technology entities. The Centre's infrastructure was established, and volunteers were recruited to support the launch.

Building partnerships and working in collaboration with Primary Schools in our current network:

  • Rejoice Nursery and Primary School
  • Maria Gorret Primary School
  • Amazing Grace Primary School
  • Kanyange Primary School
  • St. Peter's Primary School
  • Green Valley Primary School
  • St. Mary's Primary School
  • Namuyenje COU Primary School
  • J and J Primary School
  • New Generations Primary School

Phase 2: Full Launch and Outreach

Phase Two will consist of the full launch of the digital centre, featuring a marketing and outreach campaign to raise awareness and encourage participation. This phase will also focus on refining services and providing ongoing support to the community. Additional funding is needed to support volunteers with stipends and cover operational costs to maintain the Centre's activities.

Phase 3: Mobile Unit for Digital Literacy

Phase Three will introduce Mobile Units to deliver digital literacy training to remote, under-served schools in Mukono district. These units will be equipped with necessary technology to extend the Centre's reach and provide digital education to students and educators in these areas.

Phase 4: Construction of a Permanent Community Digital Centre

Phase Four will focus on building a permanent Community Digital Centre. Moving from a leased property to a dedicated facility will enable us to expand our digital literacy programs and services. The new Centre will be designed to accommodate various educational activities, featuring modern technology, flexible learning spaces, and areas for community collaboration.
